Auditions
Ongoing: String Section

Auditions will be scheduled in August for two open positions: Principal Cello and Second Trumpet.
Principal Cello Audition Requirements:
Allegro movement from a concerto
Excerpts from Beethoven 5 (2nd and 3rd movement), La Mer, and
Smetena Bartered Bride Overture
Must also possess a mindset of leadership for a string section. Must be able to attend all rehearsals for at least three of the four subscription concerts. Candidate who can commit to all four concerts are strongly preferred.
Trumpet Requirements
Beethoven Lenore #3 - Offstage fanfare
Pictures at an Exhibition - Opening solo for Trumpet I;
Trumpet II part from Gnomus movement
Ravel Piano Concerto - Solo from Movement
General Audition
Requirements:
Any two contrasting pieces,
such as concerto, sonata, etude, etc.
Two orchestral excerpts. Please contact Andrew Altenbach for
specifics on your instrument.
