The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra (SCSO), St. Cloud, MN, is seeking applications for Artistic Director and Principal Conductor.
A qualified candidate will be able to:
Plan engaging and relatable concert repertoire in partnership with the Programming Committee;
Rehearse and conduct symphony performances;
Provide leadership for the orchestra’s outreach and educational programs and work collaboratively with the SCSO Board of Directors on long-range artistic, financial and organizational planning;
Recruit and retain musicians and promote the SCSO activities in the community.
About the SCSO
Founded in 1976, the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra performs a broad repertoire of symphonic music. The mission of the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra is to present high-quality performances of music and educational outreach activities to Central Minnesota, to encourage participation by local and area musicians, and to further the understanding and appreciation of music.
The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra serves St. Cloud and surrounding communities. The SCSO performs eight concerts yearly – four subscription concerts (Saturday evenings in October, December, February, and April), a children’s holiday concert, two Classics for Kids concerts, and the Lemonade community concert in June. The subscription concerts have six preparatory rehearsals (usually on Monday nights).
Annual compensation is approximately $20,000.
